Anne’s May Update and Musings – The New Path

Some of you may have noticed that I haven’t posted a blog since January. If you have noticed, thank you.
Since January, I have been doing some quiet reflection about where I am going, as a person and an author. The start of a new year generally leads to re-evaluating where we are and where we want to go next. That was certainly true for me. I had temporarily lost the joy of writing and was finding it hard to get motivated to write anything. Starting and stopping numerous times, I decided to just let it be for a while.
And that can be a wonderful thing. Sometimes you just need to chill while you reconnect to your mojo.
I know that a lot of people had major changes in the first quarter of 2025 as well. Many of my friends found themselves looking for new opportunities in their careers. In fact, I can’t remember the last time that happened to so many people at once. 2025 is a “9” year, which means lots of endings. The end of a cycle. And so it seems that is the case – but on steroids! But “9” years also mean new beginnings. And those can be even more grand than we can imagine.
Change can be challenging. The comfort of the routine we are so used to gives us a sense of contentment, even if that routine is not exactly what we want. And there can be an inner peace when you know what your day will look like. But sometimes we are offered an opportunity to shake things up. Shed the old skin and grow into something more.
Embracing change can be hard, but I think, always fulfilling. That is, if you look at it from a higher perspective. If you can get out of your head long enough to stop the noise and see that the opportunities are limitless. Opening your heart to everything that’s available for you, whether that is career, relationships, health, or anything else.
And as you stay in your heart, The Universe will guide you to your next best thing. Your ego wants to limit you to the safe path. The path of the familiar. The path that only has a few options to choose from. But your heart knows your path and wants to guide you to your joy. You just need to listen.
So, I have been listening to my heart for the past few months. And when I got anxious about what was next, I just stopped. I stopped listening to my ego and just let things be. Knowing that things would unfold as they are supposed to while I continued to follow my joy. It will come when the time is right. Trust.
And sure enough, it did come. From a completely unexpected place. And when it came, I just knew it was the right next step. I have signed up for a new author adventure which I am so super excited about and will share more in the coming months. And this new adventure rekindled my love of writing and has taken that to the next level. I found my joy again.
If you are also looking for your next thing, my best advice is to be still and listen to your heart. Trust that your next adventure will unfold at the perfect time in the perfect place. Open your heart to ALL of the possibilities that are there for you. And you might be pleasantly surprised where it comes from. Take a walk in the woods and discover your new path. It’s out there, just waiting to surprise and delight you, if you allow it to happen and trust that it’s already there. Because it is.
Happy trails my friend. It’s going to be spectacular!
Love and Light,
Anne
