Anne’s April Update and Musings – Fun Things are Coming!

Spring has arrived, and with it a new season of writing, publishing adventures and meaningful new connections. It’s been a while since I last posted, and I’m delighted to share some fun.

Entering the Realm of the Dragons

I’m thrilled to share that I have completed the second book in the Cleo’s Fabulous Adventures series: The Realm of the Dragons.

This story was more than a year in the making. After finishing The Realm of the Woods, inspiration for the next adventure arrived - then quietly paused. I realized that it wasn’t quite time to finish it. So, I stayed patient, knowing the story would unfold when it was ready. And what fun it has been.

In this new adventure, Cleo journeys into the world of dragons, mysterious caves, ancient wisdom, and unexpected humor. Joined by her brother Marcus, she explores an Aboriginal ceremony that conjures worlds in surprising ways. Along the journey, Cleo continues discovering deeper truths about courage, friendship, love, and herself.

And the dragons may not be what you think.

Lights, Camera…YOU!

I have also been working on a very different kind of book: Lights, Camera…YOU!, which I had the privilege of co-authoring with screenwriter Alan Roth.

We wrote this book because we believe people hold far more creative power than they often realize. We discovered that many of the same principles used to shape a compelling film can also shape a compelling life.

Through the lens of movie-making, we explore relationships, challenges, goals, reinvention, and personal growth. Sometimes profound insight lands a little easier when it arrives with popcorn.

Becoming My Own Publisher

Another exciting chapter has been stepping more fully into publishing my own books.

I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to revisit several earlier works and prepare them as Author’s Editions. These feature gentle edits, reflections on the writing journey, and a few beautiful new covers.

There is something deeply rewarding about honoring past creations while allowing them to evolve.

Celebrating Other Voices

I also had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful new author, Esther Mfonyam, and the honor of editing her book Rising, Beyond the Clouds.

This soulful work is filled with poems, reflections, and personal stories for anyone navigating grief, change, longing, or healing. As a therapist, Esther offers words that meet tender places with compassion and remind readers that hope is never as far away as it may seem.

A Formidable Reminder

During all of this, I was grateful to be featured in an interview with Formidable Woman US magazine.

That experience reminded me that every one of us is formidable in our own way, though we don’t always recognize it in ourselves.

So here is a little invitation for you:

Write your own interview. Celebrate your accomplishments. Honor the challenges you’ve overcome. Acknowledge the kindness you’ve given, the courage you’ve shown, and the light you carry.

It’s about perspective, not pride. We need your gifts. We need your story. We need your light.
