Purpose.
Sounds like a daunting thing sometimes. What’s my real purpose? How do I find my purpose?
In one of my readings this morning, I came across something that made me really smile. It said:
"Your purpose is to be happy. Your angels are encouraging you to do what makes your heart sing.”
So, could it really be that simple, that easy? Indeed, I think it can. What is that thing that you love to do? And when you are involved in it, you lose all track of time. Your mind and body and spirit are in their happy place. You forget about the laundry and the bills and the job and you are just…. Happy. Then I would suggest to you, THAT is your purpose.
What a great thing that our purpose in life actually makes our heart sing!
But then we ask, shouldn’t I be doing something bigger or more meaningful? Shouldn’t I be pushing and working harder for better or more? I certainly did that for most of my adult life. Now what I realize is that the work was hard and there were a lot of long days. Waking up in the morning and dreading facing all of that again. But what really drove me to keep doing that every day? It was the other part of my work day that made me happy. The co-workers and friends that I laughed with and supported and loved. People who would come in my office to chat or vent and we would lose all track of time creating our little bubble of joy. I think you can find that happiness anywhere. And if that’s where you keep your focus, on the happy part, then you will draw more of it to you. Remember, what you put out is what you get back.
And if what you do “for a living” doesn’t make you happy, think about doing something small that will. Take a break and go outside, call a friend, or just close your eyes and imagine doing what makes your heart sing. Even in the most hectic and demanding day, you can find five minutes to do your “happy”. Then stay in that feeling for the rest of the day.
After all, isn’t that really your purpose? The angels told me to tell you, it sure is.
Love and Light,
Anne
